Anthropology Illuminating Human Behavior and Societal Evolution
Anthropology is the study of human behaviors. It describes how we evolve in present norms and differentiate from others. The field of anthropology is vast and has four main divisions: archeology, biological anthropology, linguistic, and cultural anthropology. Cultural anthropologists study the sociocultural morals of people who lived long ago to understand how they lived or interacted with others within their societal manners. Usually, societies have the same culture, but in some conditions, one big society has different rules, such as for rich and poor, enslaver and enslaved person. The study of anthropology focuses on the intra-society and inter-society cultures and norms to understand the differences and common points. Anthropologists believe that to understand the culture and societal values, one must spend time with them to collect a clear understanding of the viewpoints.
A society consists of many customs and values; therefore, anthropology serves as a fascinating window into the intricacies of human behavior, shedding light on our evolution within current norms and our distinctions from other societies. In short, through anthropology, we decipher our past and gain insights that can shape a more empathetic and interconnected future.
